Two new clinics open in Kenya

On 15 December 2023, Kenya Haemophilia Association launched a Haemophilia and Sickle Cell Treatment Centre at Hola County Referral Hospital in Tana River.

The clinic will serve patients in and around Tana River county who would previously have been referred to Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, a 7-hour bus ride away.

Four weeks later, another clinic was officially opened at the Kitui County Referral Hospital.

Before the launches, the healthcare professional team from the clinic in Tana River underwent two-weeks of intensive training at Kenyatta National Hospital offered by the team of Dr Kibet Shikuku.
