Your generosity will empower mobility and independence people suffering from haemophilia.
Raising funds for lasting impact
Humphrey, Kenyan poet with haemophilia, began writing during a difficult time as a way to find relief and escape. He has been using crutches for about 17 years.
For individuals like Humphrey, words and crutches represent freedom and independence. Although people with haemophilia can find strength through words or their passions, or thanks to the support of their family and friends, some may not be able to afford crutches, leading to severe joint damage and long-term mobility issues.
“In this span I can’t really place on how many crutches I’ve used. But the first thing I usually think when I wake up are usually my crutches. I feel them then I can maybe get out of my bed and start my day.”
Thank you for your kindness!
As for now you helped us donate 268 crutches and 20 wheelchairs.
Repeated bleeds into the joints, if left untreated, can lead to arthropathy affecting knees and ankles, sometimes requiring the use of a wheelchair for mobility.
Wheelchairs are also crucial at hospital premises, when walking can be excruciatingly painful for those experiencing a bleed.
Our fundraiser, “Wheel Power and Crutches Support for People with Haemophilia” aims to provide these essential mobility aids to those in need.
With your donation:
USD 30
provides crutches for a person with haemophilia
USD 200
sponsors a wheelchair
