NNHF programme updates H2 2024

NNHF partners around the globe had a strong closing of 2024! Find here some key highlights.

  • In Liberia, the first haemostasis lab was established at the Redemption Hospital in Monrovia. With the upcoming trainings planned, diagnosis will be available for the first time in the country.
  • In Benin, the second haemophilia and other bleeding disorders treatment centre was launched at the Departmental University Hospital of Ouémé-Plateau in Porto-Novo improving referrals and ensuring timely, accurate diagnosis.
  • In Tanzania, the first project focusing on Sickle Cell Disease has achieved significant results within a year, particularly the creation of a training curriculum for in-service training, which has been endorsed by the Ministry of Health.
  • In Paraguay, the frequency of emergency admissions reduced from 4-7 to 1-3 per month due to improved adherence and an enhanced network resulting from trainings of the multidisciplinary team.
  • In East Java, Indonesia, successful advocacy led to the expansion of prophylaxis for adults and children with severe and moderate haemophilia.
