Tulika Seth

Dr Tulika Seth is Professor of Haematology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India and leads the technical working group for haemophilia and haemoglobinopathies at AIIMS. Furthermore,  she is a member of the Executive Committee of the Hemophilia Federation, India (HFI). Dr Seth is also one of the Founding Trustees of GAP health (Genomics and public health), an NGO set up to increase genetic literacy in the public.

Dr Seth completed her post-graduate education and training in the USA at the University of California, San Francisco in 1997 and was Chief Fellow, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Pediatrics, California. A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. She returned to India and joined the Institute of Rotary Cancer Hospital at AIIMS, New Delhi in 1998, where she set up the unit of preventive oncology and initiated palliative care.

Dr Seth was integrated to the department of Haematology as faculty in 2005, where she has pioneered haplo-transplantation and evidence based, low cost interventions and therapies for haematology and haemato-oncology patients. She acquired a Postgraduate Diploma in Bioethics from ICMR-Fogarty International Centre, USA, in 2012 and serves on bioethics boards at her hospital and other organisations.  She is a passionate  medical teacher and her students are now heading many organisations in India and abroad. Dr Seth is actively working with patient groups and government to increase access to care and to deliver quality health care to patients with haematological disorders in all parts of India.

Dr Seth has demonstrated to be a strong leader in the NNHF project India 13, designed to strengthen and standardise the country’s national referral and training centres. Dr Tulika Seth was elected to the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation Council in May 2022.
