Objectives

  • Empower and engage people with haemophilia through psychological workshops and materials targeted by age group
  • Strengthen SHS through empowerment of regional educators who will drive the educational/empowerment activities of the society
  • Create awareness about the activities of the society and the insufficient and irregular supply of factor concentrates and its consequences

Achievements

  • Influenced policy to guarantee a minimum of 2 IU/capita a year
  • Empowered people with haemophilia to take action in the haemophilia society
  • A psychological support module including training of 25 regional educators created
  • Awareness of the general public about the problems faced by people with haemophilia
  • Parents and youth section within the patient society created

“The main goal of this Project is continuous work of psychologists with haemophilia patients and their families. This work represents one of the basic links in the comprehensive care chain and was almost completely pushed aside in Serbia,” Tatjana Marković, Vice-chairwoman of the Managing Board of the Serbian Haemophilia Society.
