Objectives

  • Increase early diagnosis and perform national screening programme
  • Establish national haemophilia registry
  • Educate and train healthcare professionals

  • Update treatment guidelines

Achievements

  • Education programme reaching 350 doctors, 96 nurses and 26 laboratory technicians
  • 20 workshops empowering 760 people with haemophilia and their families
  • Educational material was developed and distributed including 2,500 copies of the first comprehensive book about haemophilia for people with haemophilia
  • Screening programme including 1,006 people with haemophilia
  • The clinical data were registered in a newly introduced electronic national registry
  • The concerted effort on all fronts to improve haemophilia care in Poland led to the first national programme for prophylaxis in children introduced by the Ministry of Health
