Objectives

  • Establish a reference laboratory a the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH)
  • Create an electronic medical registry and complete the identified patient profiling
  • Empower people with haemophilia through four educational camps
  • Create awareness by organising two World Haemophilia Day celebrations and develop awareness publications
  • Establish regional haemophilia care services in the South West Region

Achievements

  • Over 140 doctors and 100 nurses were trained during five training session across the country
  • The first treatment guidelines were developed
  • More than 400 PWH and their families were trained during five educational sessions
  • 3 awareness creation programmes on the local radio channels talking about haemophilia
