Objectives
- Improve physical therapy and rehabilitation system in Lithuania
- Training abroad of 2 physiotherapists and 1 psychologist
- Create education material for physiotherapists and people with haemophilia
- Perform physiotherapy education programme for physiotherapists and related specialists and separately for people with haemophilia
- Create awareness on benefit of psychological support
Achievements
- Educational material developed; 400 copies for healthcare professionals and 400 copies for people with haemophilia and family members
- Film showing how to do physiotherapy exercises
- Website created for communication between people with haemophilia and healthcare professionals
- 3 physiotherapy summits for North-eastern European countries with theoretical and practical parts organised for 320 participants in total
- Follow up visits by Piet de Kleijn to Vilnius, Kaunas, Birstonas and Klaipeda
“We are currently developing brochures for people with haemophilia and physiotherapists and a film showing patients what physiotherapy they can do themselves at home. In addition we are developing a web-based portal so that physiotherapists and people with haemophilia can communicate with each other, and use it as a source of information,” Egidijus Šliaužys, president of the haemophilia association and project partner.
