Objectives

  • Sponsor a national haemophilia and allied bleeding disorders awareness campaign in India
  • Educational material and activities for people with haemophilia

Achievements

  • First national Youth Group Leadership Camp organised with 80 participants from 32 local chapters in India
  • Leadership manual developed and roles and responsibilities allocated across the HFI
  • Training sessions held covering project management, bookkeeping and the importance of physiotherapy
  • New youth group leaders elected
  • Action plans established in order to implement the youth group organisation in all present chapters

“We need to create an infrastructure for people with bleeding disorders. Steps have been taken to achieve this and now we want to learn from youth to take it further—we want to know what they want and create a new management wave,” Dr Kanjaksha Ghosh, project partner and President of the HFI.
