Objectives

  • Improve the laboratory facilities
  • Update current guidelines for treatment of haemophilia and allied bleeding disorders
  • Produce educational material for healthcare professionals and people with haemophilia
  • Perform a comprehensive national training programme for healthcare professionals
  • Reach out to offer better care and education to people with haemophilia and family members
  • Raise awareness of bleeding disorders amongst the general public and the authorities

Achievements

  • Improved diagnosis facilities and standardised diagnosis procedures
  • 5 days training for 5 lab technicians
  • Updated the existing treatment guidelines of haemophilia and allied bleeding disorders
  • Creation and distribution of 800 training materials for healthcare professionals
  • 7 specialised training for more than 250 healthcare professionals from 5 cities
  • 4 educational sessions for 120 people with haemophilia and 150 of their family members
  • Outreach visits to the regions including home visits
