Objectives

  • Establish of national care and treatment guidelines approved by the Ministry of Health
  • Realisation of seven medical caravans with educational and clinical activities for healthcare professionals, families and people with haemophilia
  • Increase of number of diagnosed people with haemophilia
  • Encouragement of people with haemophilia and their families to become active members of the ESH
  • Identification of new patient leaders
  • Increase of research information about haemophilia in Egypt
  • Performance of awareness creation programme to public with clear message: increase access to treatment

Achievements

  • Organised seven awareness outreach caravans across Egypt attended by more than 530 healthcare professionals and 600 people with haemophilia with their families 
  • Empowering Egyptian haemophilia community through leadership training. Young patients are active with the patient association
  • Patients and healthcare professionals network created
  • Factor availability increased from 14m units in 2013 to 30m units in 2014
  • Improve physiotherapy care by establishment of four physiotherapy clinics in the regions. It is expected that the physiotherapy clinics will help to improve patients’ joint function
