Objectives

  • Select four city-level haemophilia centres in Nanchong, Luzhou, Dazhou and Ya’an
  • Set up multidisciplinary care and train the teams
  • Advance the capacity of factor activity detection and the usage of the registry system in the selected centres
  • Provide technical and patient support, and raise awareness through follow up visits, project specific meetings and World Haemophilia Day activities

Achievements

  • In-depth training of trainers in Chengdu New Century Women’s and Children’s Hospital
  • Comprehensive care centres established in Nanchong, Luzhou, Dazhou and Ya’an and care network build up
  • Raising awareness through distribution of materials, training of district hospitals and strategic media engagement
  • 19 education sessions across Sichuan Province, focusing on emergency treatment, how to live a healthy life and on proper home treatment and self-infusion

Impact

  • Regional training hub established, ensuring improved quality and standardisation of care
  • People with haemophilia receive quality care closer to their home and live a life with fewer complications
  • Diagnosis rate increased
