Objectives
- Select four city-level haemophilia centres in Nanchong, Luzhou, Dazhou and Ya’an
- Set up multidisciplinary care and train the teams
- Advance the capacity of factor activity detection and the usage of the registry system in the selected centres
- Provide technical and patient support, and raise awareness through follow up visits, project specific meetings and World Haemophilia Day activities
Achievements
- In-depth training of trainers in Chengdu New Century Women’s and Children’s Hospital
- Comprehensive care centres established in Nanchong, Luzhou, Dazhou and Ya’an and care network build up
- Raising awareness through distribution of materials, training of district hospitals and strategic media engagement
- 19 education sessions across Sichuan Province, focusing on emergency treatment, how to live a healthy life and on proper home treatment and self-infusion
Impact
- Regional training hub established, ensuring improved quality and standardisation of care
- People with haemophilia receive quality care closer to their home and live a life with fewer complications
- Diagnosis rate increased
