Objectives

  • Set up multidisciplinary care and train the teams in Suzhou, Nanjing, Yangzhou, Huaian and Xuzhou
  • Advance the capacity in the selected centres on factor activity and von Willebrand Disease detection, and the usage of the registry system
  • Provide technical and support for people with haemophilia, and raise awareness through follow up visits, project specific meetings and World Haemophilia Day activities

  • Diagnosis rate increased by 27% (from 1,370 to 1,745) and is now at 21.7%
Huang lives in Huai’an, 250 km from the capital of Nanjing. In the end of 2018 he experienced a cerebral bleed. Luckily due to the efforts of the China 5 project team to decentralise care in the Jiangsu province, the healthcare professionals were able to save Huang’s life.
