Objectives

  • Develop practical recommendations customised for professionals who work in primary health care
  • Create educative material for professionals and for people with haemophilia with inherited bleeding disorders and their families
  • Develop a treatment guiding poster to be placed in emergency rooms
  • Devise an educative and monitoring diary for people with haemophilia with inherited bleeding disorders
  • Prepare and deliver training activities for people with haemophilia and their families
  • Organise scientific meetings and training programmes to expand and apply the outcomes generated by this project
  • Publicise the results in a national meeting and the haemophilia journal

Achievements

  • 487 healthcare professionals trained
  • Built capacity in emergency departments in 49 municipalities
  • 20% increase in people with haemophilia able to self-infuse treatment at home in two years
