Engaging media as a strategic partner in Sri Lanka
Low diagnosis rates are a challenge faced by NNHF partners across the world. Improving and establishing diagnostic facilities are effective ways to address this challenge. But the route to diagnosis is a complex one, requiring a referral system that relies upon awareness of haemophilia symptoms amongst people who don’t yet realise they have the condition, their caregivers, and their healthcare providers.
The Haemophilia Association of Sri Lanka (HASL) knew the media was an important ally in creating awareness amongst this broad audience – and in three steps impacted the lives of hundreds.
